Hi, I am Lesha Taylor, the counselor at Mustang Valley Elementary. This is my ninth year at MVE. Previously I was a counselor at two other Mustang schools and also a second grade teacher for 17 years.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Brett, and we have two amazing daughters, Jacy (and her husband, Andy) and Baylee. Our nephew Zak and his precious little boy, Boston, live with us as well. We have four dogs: Chloe, Bella, Duke and Callie.

I am here to advocate for all students. If you ever have any questions or concerns, or do not wish to have your child participate in these school counseling services, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi, I’m Tricia Robertson Weber and I’m excited to work with your children as a second school counselor for Valley Elementary! As a counselor for Mustang and other areas for over 15 years, it is a joy to work with all students and families.

Our family is large, diverse and busy! My husband Cliff and I have 5 children, 4 of whom have graduated from Mustang, and one in high school. We have one grandson who is pure entertainment.

Beyond "How Was Your Day?"

Want to know about your teenagers day, but all you get is the answer "fine" when you ask? Try some of these questions instead!

On a scale of 1-10 how was your day?
What is one new thing that you learned today?
What did you do at lunch today? Who did you sit with? Talk to?
Did you get a chance to be helpful to someone? If so, what did you do?
Did anyone help you with anything?
Did you make any new friends?
Which class are you learning the most/least in?
Which is your easiest/hardest class?
What was the coolest (saddest, funniest, scariest) thing that you saw today?
Which class has your favorite group of students in it?
If they played music in the halls at school, what would everyone want them to play?
What do you wish you could do more/less of at school?
What do you think the most important part of school is?
What part of the day do you look forward to? Is there a part of the day you dread?
If you had to go to only one class every day, which class would it be? Why?

Counseling Classes

Small Groups

I also work with students in small groups. The students in these groups have one or more social type skills that they need extra practice with. Some of the groups I facilitate are:

I take referrals from principals, teachers, and parents for students that would benefit from a small group.
